Firefly is a musician who weaves community in many worlds. Her spark of inspiration and love of the Earth shine through her songwriting, devotional chants, and humorous covers.
Firefly spent her childhood learning folk classics from being immersed in a musical family, learning piano and playing clarinet in school band. As a teen she taught herself acoustic guitar and took voice lessons. In her early twenties she began writing her own songs, and soon after began performing them. She spent many years performing as a musician and song-leader for retreats, song circles, community rituals, New Thought Centers, and music festivals. In 2015 she released her first EP, Faith Frequency. In 2017 Firefly joined the transcendental indie folk band The Seventh String, launching a successful Kickstarter for the group's debut studio album Off to Starboard. For years she has delighted audiences with lyrical depth, humor, and passionate guitar playing. She uses the sharing of song to bring people together in community. Music has the ability to build bridges, heal, uplift, and inspire. Firefly is now focusing on learning the songs of her ancestors - medieval, Scottish, Irish, Celtic, English, German, and Eastern European folks songs - to bring bloom to distant seeds of past collective memory. |
